Join us in spreading awareness

Education,awareness & outreach guide

In 2021 we rolled out our largest educational program to date, The Teacher’s Guide for Pancreatic Cancer. This was distributed to various colleges and high schools New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It was integrated into the educational programming to raise awareness of and educate students and teachers about pancreatic cancer and the Jo-Ann Danzis Foundation. A total of 3,931 people from six colleges, three high schools, and one medical school participated in the campaign. Some of the participants include Scranton High School, Rutgers School of Public Health, Lehigh University: Pre-Med Association, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, and William Paterson University: Public Health Promotion Class. This Guide is now available to the general public; help us spread the word through social media.

Our outreach

art contests

Jo-Ann Danzis Foundation invited several schools from Pennsylvania to participate in an art contest, entitled “A Message of Hope”. Sixty students from the Hazleton Area and Scranton School Districts submitted paintings. JADF staff went to the schools and provided an overview of pancreatic cancer to the students prior to their submittals. The students were excited to learn that their paintings would be displayed at the Morris Museum leading up to the 2019 Cork & Fork and then at the Simon Cancer Center as well.
